Sarir Sanat Tam: From Saba Steel to Mobarakeh Steel
Sarir Sanat Tam, as one of the technology-driven companies based in the Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT), has achieved a remarkable position in the field of industrial optimization and smart manufacturing over the past two years. By relying on the expertise of young Iranian engineers and employing modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Level-2 Automation, and Digital Twins, the company has successfully executed projects with world-class quality at a fraction of the cost of foreign counterparts.
Digital Twin of the Cooling Table at Saba Steel
One of the flagship achievements of Sarir Sanat Tam is the development and implementation of a Digital Twin for the cooling table in Saba Steel. In this project, the cooling process of steel coils after hot rolling was fully modeled, and an intelligent control system was designed to precisely manage the temperature gradient across the strip.
Leveraging AI-driven algorithms, the system enables engineers to achieve the desired mechanical properties and has paved the way for domestic production of advanced dual-phase steel grades such as DP780, a high value-added product widely used in the automotive industry.
This project was originally planned to be executed by a major European industrial firm at more than ten times the cost. However, by relying on in-house expertise, Sarir Sanat Tam delivered a fully localized and highly customized solution—a level of adaptability that many foreign systems lack.
Level-2 Automation for Color-Coated Steel at Mobarakeh Steel
Building on its previous success, Sarir Sanat Tam entered another key project at Mobarakeh Steel: developing advanced systems for color-coated steel production. Designed with a strong focus on localizing technology, this project enhances product quality and improves the overall process performance.
Globally, the development of Level-2 automation packages typically costs over one million dollars. Sarir Sanat Tam, however, has managed to offer the same class of technology at roughly one-tenth of that cost—while maintaining competitive quality.
What sets the company’s systems apart from foreign alternatives is their complete customization and precise adaptation to the specific requirements of each production line. In contrast, many international vendors often provide generic and repetitive packages.
Three Pillars of Success at Sarir Sanat Tam
1. Focusing on low-competition, high-tech domains
By investing in Level-2 automation—known as the “hidden gold” of industrial production—where few domestic companies operate.
2. Breaking foreign monopolies through cost-effective localization
Delivering world-class solutions at significantly lower cost compared to international systems.
3. Full alignment with Industry 4.0
Integrating AI, digital twin technologies, and advanced process control to boost quality, reduce energy consumption, and improve reliability.
A Path Toward True Technological Localization
What Sarir Sanat Tam has achieved in major steel complexes demonstrates a clear model of true localization—a process that goes far beyond rebranding products and requires knowledge acquisition, technology development, and real industrial implementation.
By delivering successful projects at Saba Steel and Mobarakeh Steel, Sarir Sanat Tam has proven that Iran can emerge as a major player in industrial automation, provided that continuous and targeted support for technology companies remains in place.
