Dr. Jafar Gheisari

Friendly meeting of Isfahan elites with the CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group

At a cordial meeting of Isfahan’s elites, attended by Dr. Jafar Gheysari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sarir Sanat Tam and a faculty member of the University of Isfahan, Saeed Zarandi, CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group, and Sara Goli, Head of the National Elites Foundation of Isfahan, the vital role of elites in the development of technology and industry in the country was emphasized.
Zarandi, referring to the strategic position of Mobarakeh Steel Group in Iran’s steel industry, stated that the three main axes of transformation in this group are the circular economy and green steel, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and the production of high value-added products. He added that the Mobarakeh Steel Venture Capital Fund is actively monitoring emerging technologies to pave the way for innovation and technological growth within the group.
Emphasizing the need for exporting technical knowledge and becoming an exporter of industrial licenses, Zarandi called for reforming university–industry collaboration models and accelerating research contracts. He also highlighted Mobarakeh Steel’s achievement of a global safety and occupational health ranking, noting that cooperation with scientific centers and elites is the key to overcoming economic and sanction-related challenges.
Later, Dr. Sara Goli noted that the National Elites Foundation was established under the order of the Supreme Leader and said that collaboration between the foundation and Mobarakeh Steel Group is being carried out in a swift and agile manner. She mentioned that research grants have been allocated by Mobarakeh Steel to support elite scholars and that the national “Hamyar Sanat” project has been launched, enabling direct contracts between elites and industries.
Goli added that the engagement of industry with the elite community is of great importance and that Iran has vast potential in this field; the National Elites Foundation is ready to expand cooperation in areas such as energy, technology, and the knowledge-based economy.
In another part of the meeting, Dr. Jafar Gheysari highlighted the importance of synergy between industry and academia, stating that Sarir Sanat Tam—in collaboration with Mobarakeh Steel Group—has focused its mission on developing new technologies, digitalizing processes, and enhancing industrial productivity.
He emphasized that now, more than ever, there is a need for a coherent network linking industry, universities, and elite talents to pave the way for national innovation and progress through indigenous knowledge.
At the end of the meeting, participants proposed holding specialized joint sessions between Mobarakeh Steel Group, the National Elites Foundation, and Sarir Sanat Tam to promote the development of new technologies and strengthen the connection between industry and academia, ensuring the country’s sustainable growth through innovation, knowledge-based initiatives, and elite participation.
